An Axon Software alternative for small carriers
Axon is a full trucking ERP - dispatch, accounting and payroll in one database - sold by quote, usually per user, usually with an implementation behind it. RIZE is $39 a month for the whole company, and you are running the same afternoon. Here is the honest comparison.
The short answer
Axon is built for carriers who want their accounting inside the TMS. Dispatch a load and the general ledger moves with it - no export to QuickBooks, no month-end reconciliation between two systems. For a fleet with a full-time bookkeeper and twenty-plus trucks, that is a real advantage, and it is why Axon has been around since the 1980s.
It is not priced or shaped for a carrier with three trucks. Axon does not publish a price; you book a demo and get a quote, and the published reviews describe per-user licensing plus an implementation and training spend. Per user matters: when dispatch, the bookkeeper and the owner all need a login, a per-seat price multiplies in exactly the place a small carrier cannot absorb it.
RIZE charges one price for the company. $39 a month, unlimited trucks, unlimited people, nothing to implement. You will not get a general ledger. You will get the load-to-cash half of the job - book it, dispatch it, collect the paperwork, invoice the broker, chase the money, pay the driver - and your accountant keeps doing the books.

Axon publishes no price list, so the rows above describe how it is sold rather than what it costs. Check your own quote - and ask what the implementation and the per-seat price come to over a year.
Where Axon is the better fit
- You want one system of record for the books. If your bookkeeper is reconciling a TMS against QuickBooks every month and losing days to it, an integrated ledger is worth paying for.
- You run payroll in-house for company drivers, with taxes, deductions and the rest.
- You have the staff to implement it. A system this deep rewards a proper set-up and punishes a rushed one.
Where RIZE is the better fit
- You are the dispatcher, the biller and the owner, and the work happens between loads.
- You want the price to be a number on a web page, not a negotiation.
- You are adding trucks and do not want the software bill to grow with them.
- You want to be running today, not after an onboarding project.
- Your accountant already does your books and has no interest in changing that.
What you actually get for $39
Loads with the broker's load number and rate confirmation attached. Invoices as a PDF, emailed straight to the broker with the rate con and signed POD in the same packet. One payment recorded across several loads, and an aging list of who owes you what. Driver settlements built from the week's loads. Profit per truck. Fuel and miles by state. Document expiry reminders for trucks and drivers. A phone view your drivers use to mark a load delivered and send the POD. English and Spanish. One login across several companies.
Full list, with the price: pricing.
Moving off a quote-based system
Two things to settle before you sign anything, with Axon or anyone else:
- Ask for the three-year number, not the monthly one. Licence, seats, implementation, training and support, for the fleet you expect to have - not the one you have now.
- Ask how you get your data out. Every record in RIZE exports to CSV, and after a trial ends nothing is deleted - the account goes read-only and you can still see and export everything.
